Join one of Australasia's leading providers of shipping container hire, sales and specialised container modifications. Their Christchurch workshop delivers custom container solutions for industries including construction, infrastructure, defence, storage and industrial projects.An opportunity is available for an experienced fabricator to join the team working on a major container modification project. This role will involve transforming shipping containers into purpose-built armoury units, delivering high-quality fabrication work from start to finish.This is a long-term project with approximately 1,000 hours of work available.
What you'll be doing

• Modifying shipping containers to engineered drawings
• Structural steel fabrication and welding
• Cutting, grinding and fitting steel components
• Installing doors, frames, vents and other fabricated items
• Reading and interpreting workshop drawings
• Ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety

What we're looking for

• Trade qualified Fabricator Welder preferred
• Experience with MIG welding and general fabrication
• Ability to read and work from drawings
• Experience working with structural steel, heavy fabrication or container modifications advantageous
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable and able to work independently
