External Data Protection Officer (m/w/d) – Splone UG (a company of Assecor)

Your role at our company

Splone UG is a subsidiary of Assecor GmbH and specializes in data protection and information security in the IT environment. As an external data protection officer (DSB), you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with data protection regulations in our customer projects. You will advise customers and project teams on data protection issues and ensure that our services meet the legal requirements, particularly those of the GDPR and the BDSG.

Tasks

• You will advise our customers and internal project teams on all data protection-related matters and serve as a central point of contact for data protection issues.

• You will review and accompany the implementation of software solutions and IT projects (Privacy by Design & by Default) to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

• You will create, maintain, and update data protection-relevant documentation, such as:

  • Lists of processing activities
  • Data protection impact assessments
  • Contracts for commissioned processing

• You will conduct training sessions and sensitization measures for employees and project participants.

• You will actively contribute to maintaining security standards and identify optimization and improvement potential.

• You will support the preparation and accompaniment of internal and external audits.

Qualification

• A completed degree in law, computer science, or a comparable field with a focus on data protection.
• A certification as a data protection officer (e.g., according to § 5 BDSG or equivalent) or the willingness to obtain one shortly.
• Multiple years of practical experience as an internal or external data protection officer, ideally in the IT or project environment.
• A very good understanding of the GDPR, the BDSG, and relevant national and international standards.
• A clear, secure, and solution-oriented communication style – even for complex issues.
• Very good German language skills (at least C1 level) and good English language skills.

You will also score points with

• Experience in the field of ISO 27001 and information security management.
• Knowledge in the context of ISB (Information Security Assessment) or comparable security frameworks.
• Practical experience in developing or operating IT systems.
• Familiarity with agile working methods and modern project management approaches.
