Exports Controller

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Exports Controller within a chemical company based in Durban, KwaZulu – Natal.

Responsibilities

• Quoting and ordering: Obtain freight quotes and draft final proforma invoices to customers and when accepted and place the orders for products with production and expedite according to freight bookings
• Credit: Arrange with the credit controller for Risk cover, if necessary, check letters of credit and request amendments banks and customer when appropriate
• Logistics: Plan along with despatch, transporters, and inspection bodies the loading of freight in line with firm bookings
• Documentation: Invoicing customers, complete the relevant export documentation and courier / email to banks, clients and keep clients updated
• Legal Requirements: Ensure correct import licences, inspections etc. and documentation according to each country’s legal requirements accuracy
• Costings and General: Assists with costings, forecasting, margin management, updating export product certificates, general administration duties
• Following up on client deliveries and communication is imperative

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification / Diploma in import & export practice
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the composites or a related industry with general office
• Administration with the ability to plan, follow up, communicate, have commitment to the job
• Whilst being a team player, the incumbent must have experience in exports
• Must have chemical, manufacturing knowledge and exporting experience
