We’re seeking an Export Operator Air Freight to join a busy and professional logistics team in Auckland. This role is perfect for someone with experience in airfreight operations who thrives on accuracy, problem-solving, and delivering excellent service to clients.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for coordinating export airfreight shipments, ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards. GDP is the internationally recognised quality system that ensures pharmaceutical and medicinal products are consistently stored, transported, and handled under conditions that safeguard their quality and integrity.
Your day-to-day will include managing bookings, preparing export documentation, liaising with airlines and regulatory authorities, and ensuring shipments meet strict timelines. You’ll also play a crucial role in maintaining strong client relationships and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role
You’ll be responsible for coordinating export airfreight shipments, ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards. GDP is the internationally recognised quality system that ensures pharmaceutical and medicinal products are consistently stored, transported, and handled under conditions that safeguard their quality and integrity.
Your day-to-day will include managing bookings, preparing export documentation, liaising with airlines and regulatory authorities, and ensuring shipments meet strict timelines. You’ll also play a crucial role in maintaining strong client relationships and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange and confirm airfreight capacity, including GDP-compliant handling for pharmaceutical cargo.
- Prepare export documentation such as Air Waybills, manifests, temperature logs, and compliance records.
- Monitor shipment progress, troubleshoot delays, and resolve customer issues.
- Liaise with warehouse teams, airlines, and regulatory bodies (NZCS, MPI, CAA, etc.).
- Provide exceptional customer service as the primary contact for bookings and queries.
- Maintain financial accuracy through invoice checks and record management.
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of airfreight or logistics experience.
- Knowledge of airfreight operations, routing, scheduling, and export documentation.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements, including GDP, NZ Customs, MPI, and aviation regulations.
- Strong communication skills and customer service focus.
- Proficiency with logistics systems (e.g., CargoWise) and MS Office.
- Accuracy, reliability, and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Certifications such as IATA, RACA, CLA/CLT, or Customs PIN are desirable.
