Expert Network Engineer (m/w/d)

Your Tasks

Your Mission:

With your Expertise and passion for network technologies, you will be responsible for engineering the active access technology of our network – a key technology enabling future innovations such as autonomous driving, metaverse, virtual reality, and gaming.

With our state-of-the-art processes, which we highly automate with our modern IT infrastructure, you will support our customers throughout all phases of the customer lifecycle. This applies to both our business support systems (BSS) and network-side operations support systems (OSS).

What awaits you:

• System Selection: Selection of access technology (OLT) and collaboration with system manufacturers.
• Configuration & Tests: Creation of configuration guidelines, maintenance, and performance of end device certifications (ONT) at the manufacturer's laboratory.
• Scaling: Co-development of scaling guidelines (split ratio, G-PON -> XGS-PON).
• Automation: Participation in process definition for automated port and service provisioning.
• Monitoring: Ensuring automated monitoring of customer SLAs.
• Capacity Management: Contribution to central capacity management from your area of responsibility.
• Product Design: Participation in technical product design for bitstream access products for private and business customers.
• Direct Reporting Line: You will report directly to the Engineering Department Manager.

This defines you:

• Academic Qualification: Completed studies in computer science, telecommunications, mathematics, natural sciences, or a comparable qualification.
• Professional Experience: First experiences with access technology in the fiber-optic field.
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Motivation & Pragmatism: Passion and pragmatism to drive digitalization in Germany forward.
• Language: Very good German language skills (at least C1) and secure English language skills required.
