The context
 
The Productivity squad is at the heart of the product transformation around end-to-end management of contentious cases.
The squad's scope has significantly expanded, going beyond mere productivity gains to encompass support for legal thinking and argumentation, across multiple languages.
 
Today, it is responsible for the entire value chain:
1. Document analysis
2. Automated drafting of pleadings and legal documents
3. Strategic reflection on argumentation
 
This is the core of our AI applied to legal reasoning: advanced work on LLM models, machine learning, and structuring complex documents.

Note: professional experience in the legal field is not required; however, a desire to invest and develop skills in understanding legal documents is important :)

The missions 🛠
  • Design and develop end-to-end product features — from back-end modeling to the user interface, with full ownership of your subjects.
  • Integrate AI and LLM models into product workflows — to enrich the experience of lawyers and legal professionals who use Doctrine daily.
  • Maintain and evolve our cloud architecture — modern stack, scalability, reliability of services in production.
  • Actively participate in your squad's technical choices — code reviews, architectural decisions, continuous improvement of code quality.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams — to transform complex business problems into concrete and useful technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the cross-functional technical roadmap — tooling, technical debt, documentation, and collective skill development.

  • You master TypeScript/JavaScript on both back and front end, and you are comfortable with a modern stack in production (Node.js, React or equivalent).
  • You have a true backend culture — data modeling, robust APIs, performance, technical debt management. The front end doesn't scare you, but the back end defines you.
  • You are autonomous and ownership-oriented — you take a subject, you frame it, you deliver it. You don't wait to be told what to do.
  • You work well with Product — you understand user needs, you know how to challenge a spec, and you think about impact before technology.
  • You have an appetite for AI — you are not necessarily an LLM expert, but you are actively interested in it and see how it transforms products.
  • You enjoy sharing and growing others — constructive code reviews, documentation, pair programming. You leave the codebase better than you found it.

  • Like all Doctrine engineers, you will participate in one of our cross-functional chapters, in this case, the Web chapter. Within this chapter, you will contribute to internal projects to improve our processes and our long-term vision. The chapter meets every week to:

  • 🎯 Propose developments: new tools to experiment with, new processes to implement

    Our recruitment process 🚀

    • A first 30-minute call with one of our Talent Acquisition Managers to understand your professional project and introduce you to what we are building at Doctrine
    • A 1-hour meeting with your future manager, to detail the role and the team's scope, and to answer all your questions.
    • One or two technical tests to concretely assess your skills
    • A visit to our offices for: a lunch with 3 people from different departments at Doctrine, to give you a glimpse of your future colleagues; a discussion about the company's values to share our vision, and a meeting with our CEO, Guillaume.
