The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual with a strong interest in sheep who demonstrates a willingness to work collaboratively across all areas of the operation; this position provides flexibility, accommodating candidates with varying levels of practical experience, from those with several years of hands-on involvement to high-potential individuals ready to advance into senior roles within a supportive structure.

The livestock enterprise features a flock of 4,500 self-replacing Merinos, with a portion joined to White Suffolk to successfully capture the meat market, a system that includes 300 Merino stud ewes and turns off 3,700 lambs annually while maintaining the integrity of the self-replacing flock. Parallel to this, the cropping enterprise spans 1,700 hectares of high-production winter and grazing crops, including wheat, canola, barley, and faba beans, all of which are meticulously managed and optimised through the utilisation of precision agriculture and variable rate technology.

Furthermore, the business is progressive in its approach, collecting and utilising data such as ASBVs and DNA testing in the stud to ensure continuous genetic improvement, and this sophisticated work is supported by exceptional infrastructure, including covered bugle yards featuring an auto drafter and immobilizer, a renovated six-stand raised board shearing shed, well-maintained state-of-the-art broadacre machinery, superior grain storage, and a dedicated climate-controlled office.

The Ideal Candidate
Success in this dynamic position relies most heavily on a positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn, which must be supported by practical experience in livestock and knowledge of cropping, alongside the essential possession of quality working dogs. The ideal individual must:

• Demonstrate a keenness to work collaboratively across all aspects of the farm's enterprises,
• Possess sound general farm maintenance skills related to equipment, vehicles, and infrastructure,
• Hold a valid Manual car license
• Exhibit a proactive approach, including a willingness to acquire new specialist skills such as an HC licence or attending industry training courses like 'Lambs Alive' or 'Weaning for Profit'

While not all are essential, the ideal candidate is someone who:

• May also possess or have a desire to develop strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Is technically proficient with online software like AgriWebb, Google Docs, Excel, Word
• John Deere Operations Centre, or AgWorld
• Is highly capable of working autonomously, demonstrating initiative in managing tasks,
• Potentially supported by an existing HC truck licence or chemical certificate.
