Job description
We are seeking skilled Excavator Operators to join our team in Canterbury, working on diverse civil construction projects. If you’re an experienced operator with a passion for precision and safety, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
As an Excavator Operator, you’ll play a critical role in groundwork projects, operating diggers and other machinery with precision. You’ll work to exact specifications, assist with site preparation, and contribute to the success of civil construction projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to dig to precise levels and prepare foundation areas.
- Collaborate with a team on a range of civil projects, including roading, drainage, trenching, subdivisions, and infrastructure.
- Perform daily machine checks and minor maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow site plans and communicate effectively with supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety requirements and procedures.
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ operating excavators on civil construction sites.
- Licensing: Full Class 2 or 4 licence with WTR endorsements (essential).
- Machinery Skills: Experience operating other heavy machinery such as Rollers, Bulldozers, Moxy's, Pavers, or Graders.
- Project Experience: Worked across diverse projects like roading, drainage, trenching, subdivisions, or infrastructure.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with GPS technology on excavators is an advantage.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Physical Fitness: Reliable and physically capable of handling the demands of the role.
- Competitive Pay: Hourly rate of $30 - $35.
