Examiner in Emmeloord

For the CBR in Emmeloord, we are looking for a decisive, stress-resistant examiner who is strong in making objective judgments - 30-37.5 hours per week. As an examiner, you assess whether candidates are ready to participate independently and responsibly in traffic. You make important decisions daily, work with diverse people, and combine clear rules with a professional and respectful approach.

Your Mission

Every day between 08:00 AM and 04:00 PM, you assess eight exam candidates, but no day is the same. Each candidate, traffic situation, and exam drive requires a new assessment.
During the exam, you maintain an overview, adjust your route when the situation demands it, and continuously observe the candidate's behavior. You analyze what you see, process information quickly, and arrive at a careful and substantiated judgment. Simultaneously, you maintain contact with the driving instructor and prepare for the results interview.
Even when candidates react disappointed or emotionally to the outcome, you remain calm, clear, and professional. You know how to strike the right balance between applying the exam requirements and respectfully guiding candidates.

  You conduct practical exams and assess candidates according to the current exam requirements. You arrive at an independent, consistent, and well-substantiated assessment.

  Unexpected situations can arise during exams. You remain calm, make well-considered choices, and maintain control, even when circumstances change.

• Providing Clear and Respectful Feedback
  After the exam, you conduct the results interview. You provide clear feedback, explain your assessment understandably, and know how to convey difficult messages professionally.

• Collaboration and Development
  You work closely with colleagues and managers to ensure the quality of the exams. You share knowledge, provide feedback, and contribute to a pleasant working environment where people learn from each other.

The Training
Because the profession demands a lot, we will first train you for four months to become an examiner. During that training, you will learn everything about examining: from route planning to giving feedback. You will assess driving skills, remain objective, and ensure every candidate feels at ease. And if you see that it's good? Then you literally give someone the freedom to go out on the road independently.

Because the full-time training is a mandatory part, you can not take leave during the first 4 months. You will receive the salary described at the bottom of the vacancy immediately from the start of the training.

After successfully completing this training, you will conduct exams independently under the guidance of an internship supervisor. Additionally, a coach will support you in developing into a fully-fledged examiner.

What do you bring?

• Minimum demonstrable MBO 4 work and thinking level
  You can prove this with an MBO 4 diploma (or higher) or a transfer certificate to 4 HAVO/VWO. If you don't have this, it is possible to take a capacity test that we will arrange for you after submitting your CV and motivation questions.

• Minimum of 10 years in possession of a B driving license (manual transmission). An A license and active motorcycle riding experience are a plus.

• You have experience with client situations where you easily made contact with different people. You sense situations well and adapt your communication to the person, circumstances, and moment.

• You have demonstrable and recent experience with conversations where your assessment has consequences for others. You handle resistance and emotions professionally and explain your judgment clearly and respectfully.

• Proficiency in the Dutch language at B1 level, both oral and written.

• You live within a 40-kilometer radius of the examination location.

• Please note: providing a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and undergoing a medical examination are part of the selection procedure.

We are also looking for examiners for other locations. We ask you to submit only 1 application, we will look with you at the possibilities if your preferred location is no longer available.

• A one-year contract for the number of hours you are available (30 or 37.5 hours per week) with a view to a permanent contract
• A gross monthly salary of € 4,354.56 based on 37.5 hours per week
• In addition to your salary, you will receive an Individual Choice Budget (IKB). The IKB consists of money (16.33% of your gross annual salary) and time. With the IKB, you make the choices that suit you and can assemble part of your employment conditions yourself. For example, you can choose to have part of your monthly income paid out. You can also convert this budget into leave and vice versa, or spend it on tax-friendly goals.
• Over six weeks of vacation for a full-time employment
• A lease car
• A reimbursement of € 40,- gross per month for your health insurance

About the CBR

The CBR's mission is to assess the driving skills and medical fitness of drivers and to promote the professional competence of professionals in transport and logistics. Working at the CBR means collaborating. This happens in a pleasant and collegial work atmosphere.

The Driving Skills division assesses the driving skills of drivers. To this end, it conducts approximately 800,000 practical exams and tests annually for cars, cars with trailers, motorcycles, mopeds, and microcars.

The Application Procedure

Step 1. Verification of Eligibility Requirements - Application Deadline October 16
We check, among other things: educational level, driving license, other job requirements, and the answered motivation questions.

Step 2. Online Assessment
The online assessment is designed to predict whether someone can function successfully as an examiner.

Step 3. 1st Interview (Digital) - Period from October 19 to November 13
Step 4. 2nd Interview (On-site) - Period from November 9 to November 27

Step 4. Driving Test - Saturday, November 28, December 5 & December 12
During the driving test, we assess your (advanced) driving skills and traffic awareness. This way, we determine if you are ready to start the training.
