Key Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications and site data to develop cost models.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams to gather pricing and delivery information.
• Calculate labour, material, plant and overhead costs.
• Develop and maintain cost databases, benchmarking data and historical cost metrics.
• Prepare tender submissions, risk registers and bid documentation.
• Perform sensitivity and risk analysis on estimates.
• Work closely with commercial, project management and engineering teams to align on deliverables and assumptions.
• Participate in post tender reviews to analyze cost variances.

Required Skills, Attributes and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field.
• Proven experience in estimating civil construction projects.
• Proficiency with estimating software / tools (or demonstrated capacity to learn).
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Proactive problem solver.
• Comfortable working under pressure to meet tender deadlines.
• Team player who can collaborate with both site and commercial staff.
