Estimator

We're on the lookout for an experienced Estimator to join a construction business that specialise in architectural facades, working across residential and light commercial projects throughout New Zealand.

This person will work closely alongside the project and operations teams to deliver accurate estimates, ensuring projects are priced competitively and efficiently. You’ll be the go-to person for all things estimating, providing support and advice across the business. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams is key.

We’re looking for someone with experience in an Estimating position within the construction, roofing, façade, or metal fabrication industries (or something similar). This is a fast paced and growing environment, so we are looking for someone motivated, a fast learner, able to use initiative in tricky situations, and adaptable to change. You will have exceptional organisational and communication skills and, most importantly, be a team player and up for a bit of office banter.

Job responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate estimates, quotes, and material take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Work with the project team to co-ordinate purchasing of materials and manage project budgets.
• Analyse tender documents and technical details to ensure precise pricing.
• Maintain supplier relationships and obtain competitive rates.
• Support the handover of successful bids to the operations team.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams to resolve estimating queries and provide solutions.
• Ensure all estimates are completed in a timely manner in line with project deadlines.
• Maintain estimating records and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes.
