Job description
Job Objective:
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the EHS strategy, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, and minimizing the environmental impact of company activities, in compliance with local legal requirements or those to which the company is registered.
Activities:
- Knowledge of national regulations regarding EHS.
- EHS specialist in occupational safety and health desirable.
- Implementing programs for efficient resource use and prevention of contamination.
- Experience with national regulations (stps, semarnat, conagua, sener, etc).
- Knowledge on the application of methodologies for identifying hazards, risk assessment and valuation, incident investigation and accident analysis.
- Knowledge in Occupational Health.
- Experience in developing and implementing physical security plans and procedures for responding to safety incidents.
- Ensuring compliance with legal, corporate, and other requirements that help reduce risks of safety, occupational health, and the environment, based on site strategy.
- Forming and updating emergency response plan including established business continuity protocols by the company.
- Reviewing and updating corporate regulations and local legal requirements, fulfilling work plan to achieve 100% compliance with established requirements.
- Verifying operational risk controls for safety, occupational health, and environmental risks established to minimize and/or mitigate EHS impact.
- Evaluating knowledge acquired by personnel and measuring the impact of this new knowledge on reducing safety events.
- Reviewing shared learnings including best practices, accident reports, and other regional highlights, sharing them with the entire operational team.
- Generating reports and tracking tables based on information contained in the ASPIRE program.
- Defining physical, human (roles), and financial resources that help control occupational risks, health, and environmental risks for the site under control.
- Collaborating in planning and developing annual EHS budget (AOP) aligned with corporate and local objectives.
- Knowledge in: emergency brigade, smoke alarm system, Brady Link 360 (Lock out & Tag out), Risk Watch
