Job description
The airborne parachutist is a military operational specialist in airborne intervention. He is trained in aerial projection, close combat, securing hostile zones, and supporting inter-arm operations. He acts in small groups, on the ground, in complex environments, where discretion, tactics, and precision are essential.
A salary equal between men and women at the same post and hierarchical level.

The training for the airborne parachutist includes two distinct phases:
- Military training takes place for six weeks at the Centre de Préparation Opérationnelle du Combattant de l'armée de l'Air et de l'Espace (CPOCAAE) in Orange (Vaucluse).
- Professional training is provided on the Orange air base: 5 weeks for the MAQUIS stage, followed by 4 weeks for the stage specific to master dogs, chained by 8 weeks for the MATOU stage.
You will follow a paid training
The entry into the formation of airborne master dog parachutist marks your entry into this professional career. Even if you are not yet the holder of the diploma, you have the salary planned for this job during the training to focus on learning your new missions.
As an airborne parachutist, you:
- Carry out combat missions for personnel recovery groups (search and rescue at combat of an aircraft crew in a hostile zone-RESCO), air support (guiding air-to-air fire), and air mobility support (reconnaissance of terrain, marking of landing zone) ;
- Conduct patrols to deter, detect, and intervene to delay and neutralize, if necessary, any act of malice against operational installations of the Air Force ;
- Control access to sensitive points ;
- Carry out missions in the fields of air safety and ground fire support (sniper on helicopter).
