EPC Manager / Owner's Engineer (m/f/d) - Utility-Scale Solar, BESS, Wind

Renergo develops large-scale photovoltaic open-space projects, wind farms, and battery storage systems (BESS) nationwide – and is now taking the next step as an independent power producer (IPP): from pure project developer to operator of its own plants.

For the establishment of our EPC management, we are looking for experienced colleagues who want to take on real responsibility and enjoy short decision-making paths – you will report directly to management. As the first person in this area, you will shape it from the ground up within our decentralized team of around 18 people – and together with us, you will make a difference against climate change.

Responsibilities

• Overall technical responsibility in EPC management, particularly for our PV and BESS projects – as a central technical authority (Owner's Engineer) together with the existing Renergo project managers
• Creation and enforcement of internal technical requirements and specifications
• Technical evaluation of solutions and components – e.g., battery storage types, manufacturers, degradation curves, and system design
• Support and acceptance throughout the entire project cycle: Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), construction site inspections, and on-site acceptances together with the EPC contractors / subcontractors
• Management of EPC negotiations for complex supply and EPC contracts including technical specifications and payment terms – in coordination with the commercial side and project management
• Support in the creation of technical planning and specifications, particularly in the areas of grid connection and cable route planning, PV design.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in EPC management, Owner's Engineering, or technical project realization of utility-scale PV and/or battery storage systems (BESS) in Germany – no career changers
• Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or construction technology, or a comparable qualification
• In-depth technical expertise in PV and/or BESS systems, components, and manufacturers; experience with FAT and construction acceptances
• Experience in negotiating and contractually structuring complex supply/EPC contracts including payment terms
• Existing network and concrete market knowledge in the German PV/BESS environment
• Willingness to travel for on-site appointments (construction sites, supplier meetings, FAT)
• Negotiation-level German – and negotiation-level English skills (international suppliers)
• Independent, responsible working style and the desire to take on real responsibility.
