About the work: Downer holds the contract for installing and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure across New Zealand. This includes fibre optic cables, cell towers, and other equipment. Our team works closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that meet their requirements. We are seeking an Owner/Operator who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of telecommunications assets on behalf of Downer. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work independently. Key responsibilities: • Manage a portfolio of telecommunications assets including fibre optic cables, cell towers, and other equipment. • Develop and implement strategies to optimize asset performance and minimize costs. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective maintenance and repair of assets. • Build strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that meet their requirements. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. • Manage budgets and financial reports for the portfolio. • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and technology. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or communications. • At least 5 years' experience in a leadership role within the telecommunications industry. • Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and technology. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
