Job description

PFASuiki sets the global standard for the safe and sustainable destruction of PFAS. Using electrochemical oxidation (ECO), we transform contaminated water streams into non-hazardous wastewater and help solve one of the major environmental challenges of our time.

We are looking for a certified waste management specialist (m/f/d) who will make PFASuiki a certified waste disposal company according to § 56 KrWG and ensure this status permanently. As the responsible person according to EfbV, you will lead and supervise our disposal activities, handle all formalities with the inspection body and authorities, and advise our team on all waste and disposal issues.

Tasks

  • Responsibility for certification as a waste disposal company: Define scope (activities, locations, waste types), select inspection body, conclude supervision agreement, accompany initial and annual inspections

  • Establish and maintain operational organization according to EfbV: organizational plan, work instructions, operational logbook, insurance, reliability, and expert knowledge certificates

  • Handle all official formalities: notifications and permits according to KrWG, applications, questionnaires, and deadlines

  • Advise management, operations, technical, and sales departments on waste and disposal issues, from AVV classification to the choice of disposal route

  • Classify waste streams from our mobile operations, laboratory, and pilot plant, arrange analytics, and qualify disposal partners

  • Maintain waste disposal records, consignment notes, eANV, and registers, and provide customers with reliable proof of disposal

  • Assess the need for permits for new business models

  • Train employees, conduct internal audits, and monitor changes in waste and PFAS law

Requirements

  • Completed degree, technical college, or vocational training, or master craftsman's qualification in chemistry, process engineering, environmental engineering, or waste management technology, or a comparable field

  • At least three years of practical experience in waste management, ideally with hazardous or liquid waste

  • Expertise according to § 9 EfbV with an accredited expert training course

  • Reliability within the meaning of § 8 EfbV, evidenced by a certificate of good conduct and a certificate of registration of the central trade register

  • Sound knowledge of KrWG, EfbV, NachwV, and AVV, as well as practical experience with the eANV

  • Experience with certification audits and confident handling of authorities and experts

  • Structured, thorough work approach with a keen sense for deadlines and documentation

  • Negotiation-level German, including for official correspondence; good English for team collaboration

  • Class B driver's license for assignments at customer sites

Advantageous:

  • Experience with PFAS, firefighting foams, or POP-containing waste

  • Qualification as a waste officer or dangerous goods officer

  • Knowledge of AwSV, BImSchG, and ADR

  • Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 9001

Benefits

  • Real Impact: You help solve one of the major global environmental challenges

  • Responsibility: You will help build the PFASuiki waste disposal company from the ground up and will be the central point of contact for all disposal issues

  • Broad Scope of Work: Waste law, certification, authority work, customer site visits, and the market launch of a new destruction technology

  • Startup Culture: A dynamic, collegial environment where your ideas directly shape our technology and strategy

  • Training: Expert knowledge and further training courses are firmly planned

  • Attractive Package: Fixed salary plus performance-based variable compensation

  • Further benefits such as subsidies for public transport and lunch

Ready to ensure that "forever chemicals" become a thing of the past with your waste management know-how?

Become part of PFASuiki and create the regulatory foundation that allows our technology to transition from pilot operation to commercial use.

If you combine in-depth waste law knowledge with a practical, solution-oriented work approach and enjoy taking responsibility, we look forward to receiving your application.
