Job description

AdaptX Systems is a Berlin-based Deep-Tech startup with a clear goal:
We make industrial production more efficient, cleaner, and future-oriented.

To achieve this, we develop innovative cooling systems and measurement technology adaptations for machine tools, as an alternative to flooding and oil lubrication, with a clear focus on productivity enhancement. Our solutions are directly integrated into existing machines and combine mechanics, thermodynamics, electronics, and software into an integrated system. Together with leading industrial partners, we shape the future of production anew and bring our technology step by step from the lab to series production.

Aufgaben

You develop and implement the mechanical core components of our systems and decide how they function in industry. As a development engineer, you are responsible for construction, further development, and industrialization of our cooling solutions, from the initial idea to prototypes and series implementation at the customer's site. You work closely with hardware, test your own constructions, and see directly how they function at the customer's site. We're not looking for a specialist in a box, but an engineer with a systems perspective: you think in modules rather than individual components, understand interfaces, and are eager to take responsibility for a real product. You make independent constructive decisions, represent the mechanical perspective in the team, and bring technical topics to maturity on your own.

You take over the mechanical development and bring our system into production:

Mechanical Development and Construction:

  • Construction of modules and components (e.g. housings, interfaces, retaining rings, cooling bodies)
  • Assembly and further development of prototypes, test specimens, and small series solutions
  • Iterative improvement based on tests and practical experience
  • Designing the mechanical integration into different machine tool types

Testing and Validation:

  • Assembly, planning, and execution of tests at internal test stands and at customers'
  • Analysis and optimization of mechanical, thermal, and functional behavior
  • Documented and evaluated results

Industrialization and Series Implementation:

  • Self-directed selection and technical coordination with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and material providers
  • Accompanying the transition from prototype to series product
  • Quality assurance and continuous optimization of construction

Qualifikation

  • Degree or further education in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or comparable field
  • Excellent CAD skills (e.g. Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
  • Fundamental knowledge in the area of fluidics/thermodynamics or willingness to quickly get up to speed
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Optional: Experience with control/signal processing technology, retrofitting, or machine tools
  • Excellent German and good English skills

Benefits

  • Gestaltungsspielraum: You are actively involved in shaping our product from the start
  • Purpose & Impact: Your engineering creates measurable environmental benefits and industrial efficiency
  • Startup Environment: Short distances, quick decisions, responsibility from day one
  • Lernen am Produkt: Direct exchange with founders, industrial partners, and customers
  • Flexible Work: Hybrid model with workshop/office access in Berlin
