Development Engineer (m/f/d) Hardware & Software

MTS Systemtechnik GmbH is an innovative, medium-sized family company based in Mertingen. For over 30 years, we have been developing and manufacturing high-quality, customer-specific system solutions in the fields of high-frequency technology and EMC – made in Germany. Our products are used worldwide in the fields of defense, mobile communications, and other industrial applications.

Tasks

• Development and optimization of high-frequency systems for industrial and communication applications

• Holistic involvement in development projects – from idea generation through design and simulation to prototyping and testing

• Development of embedded software, firmware, or application software for electronic systems

• Creation of technical specifications, documentation, and test plans

• Support with system commissioning, as well as analysis and resolution of technical challenges

• Close collaboration with adjacent departments such as mechanics, design, testing, manufacturing, and project management

• Team and communication skills
• In-depth knowledge in electrical or electronic development
• Experience in at least one of the following areas:

Hardware development (e.g., circuit technology, RF technology, EMC aspects)
Software development (e.g., embedded systems, microcontrollers, hardware-related programming)

• Knowledge of common development tools (e.g., EDA tools, debug tools, IDEs)
• Basic understanding of system architectures as well as hardware and software interfaces

Language skills

• Good German and English skills, both written and spoken

Education

• University/College degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably Communications Engineering, or comparable qualification
