We make heating and cooling radically more efficient.

Ecalia is a Deep-Tech startup from Stuttgart that fundamentally rethinks the cold and heat pump technology. Our innovation are Scroll-Compressor-Expander systems that work with conventional refrigerants and bring the thermodynamic process closer to its optimum than all currently available systems on the market. This addresses one of the largest levers for global energy efficiency, as heating and cooling consume almost half of the world's energy.

We were awarded as one of the Top-10 most innovative Tech startups in Germany (Weconomy Award 2025) and are working at the Institute for Plastics Technology at the University of Stuttgart on our prototypes and test facilities.

We are a small, well-coordinated team of currently three people. We grow and value diversity and high motivation. Our claim is to rethink previous business and development processes and integrate KI tools successively into our workflows and develop them as our primary working tool.
