Moldflow Engineer (Freelance / Project-Based or Part-Time)

Project: Development of an innovative, flexible consumer product (TPEE / Hytrel)
Start: ASAP
Location: Remote possible (DE/EU preferred)
Duration: Project-based, possibly long-term collaboration

We are a growing Consumer-Startup with a focus on innovative, functional products in the Lifestyle sector. For a new, patented plastic product, we are looking for an experienced expert in moldflow engineering to optimize and further develop.

Tasks

We are a growing Startup with a focus on innovative, functional products in the Lifestyle sector. For a new, patented plastic product, we are looking for an experienced expert in moldflow engineering.

- DFM analysis (Design for Manufacturing) of a flexible plastic component

- Moldflow simulation (Fill, Pack, Warp)

Optimization of:

• Gate position
• Wall thickness transitions
• Ventilation
• Tightening / binding seams

- Development of a tool concept (Proto → Series)

- Coordination with mold makers and producers

- Definition of realistic series parameters

Technical Key Data

• Material: Hytrel (TPEE / TPC-ET) or comparable elastomeric thermoplastics
• Thin-walled geometry
• Mechanically stressed bending zones
• Goal: Prototype + scalable series capability

Qualification

• Several years of experience in the field of moldflow (thermoplastics)
• Very good knowledge of Moldflow or comparable simulation software
• Experience with elastomeric materials (TPEE, TPE, TPU, PA-elastomer etc.)
• Understanding of tool construction (shifter, unloading, injection concept)
• Hands-on mentality and pragmatic approach

Nice to have:

• Experience with consumer products
• Rapid Tooling experience
• Contacts with mold makers
