Development Engineer Photovoltaics (m/f/d)

The focus of this exciting activity lies on the further development and optimization of control and energy management strategies for photovoltaic systems in combination with electrical and thermal storage systems. Optionally, PVT modules (photovoltaics-thermal) can also be integrated to increase the efficiency of heat pumps while simultaneously improving the electrical energy yield of the systems. Responsibilities

• Conception and development of intelligent control algorithms for the economically optimized operation of PVT systems, including battery storage, thermal storage, and heat pumps.
• Development of control strategies for the integration and optimization of commercial and industrial energy consumers.
• Planning, execution, and evaluation of Hardware-in-the-Loop tests for the validation and optimization of the developed control concepts.
• Close cooperation and coordination with various project partners

Requirements

• Successfully completed degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, or a comparable technical field.
• Very good knowledge and practical experience (at least 5 years) in the field of photovoltaics, as well as pronounced knowledge in control and automation technology.
• Experience in the development or programming of Energy Management Systems (EMS), preferably with OpenEMS.
• Desirable: Java programming skills
