How often do you get the task not just to draw enterprise architecture in a corporation, but to make it work?

Many design architectures. Few ensure that they are maintained, that the tool communicates with the source systems, and that the processes behind them are actually followed by people. This role is precisely for that. You are the person who turns EAM in a corporation from concept into daily practice.

Our client, an internationally active service group with several thousand employees, is undergoing an organizational restructuring of its IT. The IT is being organizationally restructured, and Enterprise Architecture Management in the central department is getting its own role for what should otherwise run on the side and therefore never does: methodology and tools. What exists: an architecture function, boards and communities, source systems with data. What is missing is the person who makes a self-sustaining system out of it.

What it's about
You will be responsible for the methodological and technical foundation of EAM. Processes designed to remain efficient. A toolchain that automatically obtains its data from source systems. Data quality that can be measured. And users who know what they are doing. This is a rare task because it rarely exists as a standalone position. Whoever takes it on determines whether architectural work in a corporation is a discipline or a declaration of intent.

• You will develop the process framework for EAM: process models and RACI matrices up to requirement catalogs.
• You will conduct tool evaluations through RFI and RFP processes, implement and configure the EAM toolchain, and design data import and integration with CMDB, ITSM, and cloud platforms.
• You will evaluate new EAM methods such as Wardley Mapping or Business Capability Heatmaps and decide what fits the corporation.
• You will conduct regular process reviews, plan and implement tool updates and feature enhancements, and adapt the architecture metamodel to changing requirements.
• You will continuously measure EAM process maturity against industry standards and best practices.
• You will ensure the availability and scalability of EAM tools and be responsible for role and access concepts.
• You will define KPIs for data quality and check completeness, timeliness, and consistency.
• You will design training and onboarding concepts for all tool users, maintain user documentation, and write the guides that new users actually read.

• Several years of experience in IT architecture, particularly solution or enterprise architecture, preferably with technical leadership responsibility
• Practical experience in planning and controlling existing and future IT landscapes
• Experience in introducing and administering a leading EAM tool, such as LeanIX, Ardoq, Mega HOPEX, Sparx EA, or ADOIT
• Proficient application of common EAM frameworks such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, or Zachman, ideally certified
• Experience with internal EAM boards or architecture communities
• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification in the IT field
• Very good German language skills
