Recognized as a center of expertise within the framework of the Special Education Law, the CPHV promotes the inclusion of visually impaired individuals in Romandie. It is part of the Foundation for the Blind, founded in Lausanne in 1843, which includes the Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital in Lausanne, the low vision social and rehabilitation service, the vision science research center, and the Clair-Soleil EHPAD in Ecublens, a medico-social establishment specially adapted for visually impaired seniors.

More than 670 employees are mobilized daily for visual health to offer diagnostic, treatment, and support services to people with vision impairments.


To complete our team, we are looking for a

Traveling Special Education Teacher

Your mission
  • Guarantee and ensure the provision of adapted pedagogical resources from grades 1 to 11, with the support of a transcription service: enlargements, computer documents, or braille. Encourage and promote the use of these resources
  • Work in close collaboration with class teachers
  • Maintain a logbook and prepare an annual report for each student
  • Participate in the network involving regular school professionals and various specialists (occupational therapists, locomotion therapists, daily living and functional vision activities, ophthalmologists, etc.)
  • Coaching and support for teachers
Your assets
  • Master's degree in Special Education (obtained or in progress); obtaining the Master's degree is mandatory for practicing this profession.
  • Initial teacher training (HEP), specialized educator (HES), or Master's degree in Pedagogy or Psychology, followed by complementary training leading to the Special Education diploma (recognized by the Conference of Directors of Public Instruction – CDIP) in employment from the HEP
  • Willingness to develop and keep up-to-date the necessary professional knowledge and skills for the exercise of your function through continuing education
  • Proficiency with standard computer tools
  • Sense of organization and flexibility, ability to work independently
  • Sense of responsibility and ability to manage complex situations
  • Enjoy collaborating with professionals from diverse backgrounds
  • Professional ethics
  • Native language: French
  • Good knowledge of mandatory school subjects
