Job description

Our client is a leading global FMCG company and is expanding. Job Role & Key Responsibilities: As Engineering Team Leader, youll be the operational hub of the engineering team managing the planning, communication, and administration that keep everything running smoothly. From maintenance scheduling and spare part management to compliance tracking and contractor coordination, youll ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively. Key Responsibilities: Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum equipment lifespan. Oversee spare parts inventory, including ordering, storage, and usage tracking, to maintain optimal stock levels. Manage contractor activities, including permits, inductions, and performance monitoring, to guarantee adherence to safety regulations and company policies. Develop and maintain department documentation, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and maintenance records. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as equipment uptime, maintenance costs, and safety incidents. Conduct root cause analysis investigations for equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Manage departmental budget and control expenditure. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify and implement process improvements. Skills and Experience: Proven experience in an engineering leadership role within a manufacturing environment. Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels. Experience with maintenance management systems (MMS) or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience with budget management and cost control. Qualifications: A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) is highly desirable. Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
