Job description

Your tasks

You work in a team responsible for the entire tooling ecosystem, with which our Jungheinrich Robotics solutions are implemented, operated, supported, and continuously improved throughout their entire lifecycle. From commissioning a vehicle on-site to remotely diagnosing the problems of an entire fleet, you and your team ensure that our robotics systems can be delivered, operated, and supported efficiently and scalably across all robotics products and future vehicle generations.

You work in three central areas:

  • You further develop our on-site tooling, enabling efficient implementation, commissioning, and execution of service activities via our HMI and our Environment Editor.
  • You develop our remote tooling as part of our Robotics Cloud, enabling remote diagnostics, fleet management, monitoring, and support.
  • You design our remote access solutions and ensure secure and scalable access to our robotics systems whenever required.

You work closely with our Product Manager for Robotics Tooling. While the Product Manager focuses more on the what and why, you complement this perspective with the how and when.

  • You are responsible for the technical direction of our tooling, enabling rapid implementation, efficient service processes, fleet operation, remote diagnostics, and high system availability.
  • You design a scalable tooling ecosystem that can be used across different robot families, customer installations, and support organizations.
  • You lead and develop a team of internal and external software engineers, creating an environment where employees can grow, work successfully, and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Together with the Product Manager, you define, manage, and track the agreed-upon roadmap and ensure its successful implementation.
  • You build strong partnerships with Product Management, Vehicle Engineering, Service, Operations, and IT to realize an integrated tooling ecosystem.
  • You continuously improve the user experience for commissioning and service technicians, support teams, and our customers.
  • You design the strategy and implementation of secure remote access solutions, balancing operational efficiency, security requirements, and customer needs.
  • You promote the development and performance of your team through engagement, coaching, individual development, and continuous improvement.
  • You drive Engineering Excellence through agile working methods, high-quality software development, and modern engineering standards.

Your Profile

  • You have extensive experience in leading software engineering teams in agile product development environments.
  • You have a strong software engineering background and practical technical experience.
  • You have experience in coaching engineers and actively support them in their professional and personal development.
  • You have experience in robotics, automation, embedded systems, or comparable technical fields.
  • You have experience in developing frontend applications and user-centered software.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, aligning diverse stakeholders towards common goals.
  • You are passionate about solving real-world challenges with technology.
  • You work primarily on-site, so you ideally live in or near Munich.
  • This is a plus:
    • You have experience with Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI).
    • You are familiar with the processes involved in the implementation, service, or operation of robots.
    • You have experience with monitoring, observability, or remote diagnostics solutions.
    • You are knowledgeable about networking, infrastructure, security, or remote access concepts.
    • You have experience working closely with customers or field operations teams.

What we offer

  • Cutting-edge Technology: As pioneers in robotics, we navigate and manipulate without rails or guides, offering solutions for processes no one has ever automated before!
  • Team: We are an international team with over 25 nationalities. You will work with very smart, humble, cooperative, and hardworking people.
  • Culture: Just be yourself! Become part of a dynamic, innovative, and diverse team that prioritizes collaboration over hierarchy. To be innovative, one must sometimes fail – we constantly learn and improve.
  • Workplace: Our office is located near the "Hirschgarten" S-Bahn station. We work in a loft-style office with great amenities, our own workshop, and a test area.
  • Full Board: Don't want to think about what to eat for lunch tomorrow, let alone prepare it? Fortunately, our French chef spoils us every day with a freshly cooked free lunch! And as a cherry on top, there's a stocked fridge with drinks, fresh fruit, and of course, coffee!
  • Flexibility: Flexibility is a top priority for us. Our hybrid work model for positions where on-site presence is not essential contributes to a healthy work-life balance.
  • Benefits: We offer attractive vacation, Wellpass, health, and compensation benefits. Learn more about our current benefits here.

You don't meet 100% of the requirements? No problem. We know that the best talent doesn't always tick every box on a job ad. If you're passionate about robotics and want to help shape the future of automation, we look forward to receiving your application. Perhaps this position is the right next step for you, or another exciting opportunity at Jungheinrich Robotics.

At Jungheinrich Robotics, fostering inclusion is very important to us. We are therefore committed to creating an inclusive environment for all candidates and offer equal opportunities to all qualified applicants regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, national origin, sexual orientation, culture, or education.
