At GovRadar, AI First is far more than a technological approach, it is the foundation of how we think, decide, and work. You will drive this transformation in your team significantly and shape a way of working in which the interplay of humans and AI redefines collaboration, product development, processes, and architecture from the ground up.

• You will manage your team of 5 engineers both professionally and disciplinarily, provide regular feedback, and promote the individual development of each team member.
• You will actively drive the cultural change towards AI-supported development. Our goal is that the vast majority of productive code in the team is generated by AI agents under human instruction.
• You will be hands-on yourself – you will actively develop and drive architectural decisions and complex technical problems, thus creating direct added value for the product. Your way of working is value-driven, you consistently prioritize based on what truly matters to users and the business.
• You will be responsible for reliable delivery, system stability, and availability within your area of responsibility, and ensure the targeted reduction of technical debt.
• The targeted further training of each individual team member is extremely important to you; for us, this is not a nice-to-have, but a firm part of our goals.
• You will actively and future-orientedly develop your team, both technically and organizationally, making it fit for a rapidly changing environment.
• You will manage your team together with the Product Manager as a dual leadership.
• You will work closely with the other Engineering Managers, the Senior Software Architect, and the Head of Development.
• You will actively drive the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.

Must have

• Several years of experience in disciplinary and professional leadership of an engineering team
• Enjoy staying close to the team and the code, and living leadership directly and personally
• Technical understanding at the architectural level and the ability to contribute technically where necessary and make a real value-adding contribution
• In-depth experience with our tech stack: TypeScript and Vue3 on the frontend, Python on the backend
• A clear stance on AI First: For you, manual coding is no longer the norm. You can not only use AI agents but also steer, orchestrate, and control them effectively. Your goal is a team in which AI generates the majority of the code, while humans are responsible for direction, architecture, and quality standards.
• Experience with modern cloud and container infrastructure, CI/CD, and a "You build it, you run it" culture
• Strong people and culture skills: empathy, active listening, conflict resolution, and the ability to build sustainable trust
• Experience with situational leadership, adapting your style to the maturity level and situation
• Sense of responsibility in terms of ownership. You stand by what your team delivers.
• Willingness to change and true pioneering spirit: You question the existing, bravely try new things, and can win others over for change.
• German as a native language or C2 level

• Experience in the public sector or with B2G products
• Experience in building or scaling engineering organizations (startup/scale-up)
