Your Mission
We build software that helps complex teams think more clearly together – across organizational boundaries, time zones, and security requirements. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for two product teams (frontend, backend, fullstack) from start to finish. You won't just ensure everything runs smoothly – you will create the conditions for good engineering to be possible at all. You work on the system, not just within it: you will build the operating model that enables predictable delivery and real growth. This is a build role – you set up what doesn't exist yet and hold it together once it's in place.

Your Tasks

• Leading Engineers – You will take responsibility for performance management from start to finish: regular 1:1s, honest feedback, individual development plans – and the difficult conversations that come with it when you truly want to help people progress. You will also manage the hiring process for your teams.
• Delivery, Quality, and Flow – You will be responsible for your teams' results: predictable delivery, clear quality standards, and outcome KPIs that you help define and consistently track.
• Operating Model – You will establish the routines, processes, and guardrails (engineering standards, security, compliance) that ensure your teams can work well – and ensure that these are actually lived.
• Prioritization and Focus – You will help your teams find the right balance between speed, quality, scope, and impact. You will translate product and company strategy into concrete engineering priorities – and protect focus when it matters.
• Contribution at Leadership Level – You will bring technical and delivery-relevant topics to the leadership agenda. You will be an active part of the tech leadership team and shape Conceptboard's technical direction.

Must Haves

• You have driven performance management, growth, and hiring truly independently – including job descriptions, interviews, and everything that goes with it.
• You do not shy away from difficult conversations but see them as part of your job.
• You have a keen sense for team structures and know how to build teams that can actually implement strategic priorities, rather than just maintaining the status quo.
• You can demonstrably build sustainable engineering operating models from scratch – experience in team remediation is crucial here.
• Leading well-functioning teams is the easy part. Taking responsibility for the engineering culture – the practices, the standards, the routines – is something you actively strive for.
• You have the technical expertise to engage with engineers at eye level, weigh compromises confidently, and recognize when something is not heading in the desired direction – without having to be the best engineer in the room.

• Demonstrable experience in organizational development in software engineering – building structures, developing employees, or scaling teams through meaningful changes.
