Engineering Manager – Core Platform & APIs

Job Description SQLI Spain is currently developing a project for a client that help millions of customers reach their destination smoothly. Behind every successful airport transfer, there’s a robust ecosystem of internal tools, partner connectivity, real-time data flows, and reliable APIs. As we scale and modernise our infrastructure, we’re looking for an Engineering Lead – Operational Platforms & APIs to lead the evolution of the systems that power our day-to-day operations such as: internal tools, APIs, and platforms. This role will be responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and improvement of these critical components. Key responsibilities include: • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions; • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements; • Developing and implementing technical roadmaps and strategies; • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices; • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers; • Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends. The ideal candidate will have: • 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably in a leadership role; • Strong understanding of software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies; • Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS or Azure; • Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or C++; • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms; • Familiarity with containerization using Docker; • Understanding of API design principles and RESTful APIs; • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
