Requirements:

• This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2–3 days per week in the Cape Town office.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Hands-on experience with multiple backend programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or Go, and/or modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable software systems.

Skills:

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Proficiency in software design patterns and architectural best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Nice to have:

• Experience in writing reports and delivering presentations to stakeholders and executives.
• Enthusiasm for staying hands-on with coding and technical problem solving.
• Active participation in the tech community through conferences, open source contributions, or publications.
