Engineering Leadership Development Program
at our Weilheim location. Start of the program is July 13, 2026, full-time.
The ELDP (Engineering Leadership Development Program) is a challenging two-year rotational program targeting young talents who are passionate about applied science, sensor technologies, analytical chemistry, and technical excellence. You can expect hands-on laboratory work, applied sensor development, exciting project tasks, and training in technical and personal competencies. If you want to translate scientific insights into concrete solutions and aspire a career in research & development, the ELDP is your ideal entry point at Xylem.
You will gain experience in various technical and interdisciplinary areas – with a focus on sensor development, analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, water analysis, and materials science. Depending on your assignment, you will work in the laboratory, develop methods, test prototypes, analyze data, and collaborate closely with teams from Engineering, Production, Quality, and Product Management.
Tasks
- Planning and implementation of assigned tasks and projects within the program rotation
- Implementation of practical laboratory work in the areas of sensor development, analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, or related disciplines
- Plan, conduct, document, and evaluate experiments under application of a structured scientific approach
- Analyze experimental data, recognize trends, interpret results, and derive technically sound conclusions
- Support the development, characterization, and optimization of sensor concepts, analysis methods, materials, or measurement principles
- Bring in new analytical approaches, methods, or technical improvements to your area of responsibility
- Complete all required program training sessions
- Active participation in Xylem Watermark community activities
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field
- Passion for technology, strong engagement for a technology-oriented career in research & development, and ability to lead and work in teams
- Familiarity with MS Office applications; first practical experience, Co-op, or research experience in the F&E area of advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Analytical, solution-oriented, and structured working style
- Very good German and English language skills in writing and speaking
