Engineering Lead Group Insurance $230,000 package 10% bonus 5 weeks leave | Sydney (Hybrid) A major insurer is hiring an Engineering Lead to drive automation, delivery quality, and platform modernisation across its Group Insurance division. This is a new role created as part of a broader engineering uplift, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering. You will lead three squads focused on simplifying delivery, building reusable APIs, and moving the stack towards a modern, automated state. The goal is to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer experience through innovative solutions. Key responsibilities include: • Leading three squads with 10-15 engineers each, focusing on automation, quality, and platform modernisation • Collaborating with stakeholders to define and deliver strategic initiatives • Developing and maintaining technical roadmaps for the Group Insurance division • Ensuring delivery of high-quality software products that meet customer needs and expectations • Building strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including product management, architecture, and operations • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with new technologies and processes • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement.
