Job description
Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead / Architectural Specialist to support a large-scale digital transformation programme.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across engineering teams and help ensure that digital solutions are designed, developed and integrated in line with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership across software engineering and digital delivery teams.
Guide development teams on solution design and implementation.
Work closely with Enterprise and Solution Architects.
Review technical designs, development approaches and integration solutions.
Support the development of scalable and maintainable digital solutions.
Provide technical input into APIs, backend services and enterprise integrations.
Identify technical dependencies, risks and delivery constraints.
Support engineering standards, code quality and development practices.
Collaborate with Product, Business Analysis and Programme Management teams.
Support the transition of approved designs into implementation and production.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in software engineering and technical leadership.
Strong experience in enterprise-scale digital delivery.
Experience with software architecture and solution design.
Strong understanding of APIs, backend services and systems integration.
Experience with API-led and/or event-driven architecture.
Experience working within Agile engineering environments.
Strong understanding of CI/CD and modern software development practices.
Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Azure.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Financial services, banking or insurance experience is highly advantageous.
Advantageous Experience:
Java and backend development.
React and digital application delivery.
Real-time processing.
Rules engines and business decisioning.
Collections, payments or insurance platforms.
Enterprise security and integration standards.
