Job description
Schiphol never stands still. Behind that 24/7 operation is technology that must always be correct. That's who we're looking for an engineer for. As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you will work on the design and realization of installations in Terminal 3, piers, baggage basements, fire stations, and other crucial airport locations. Not standard utility projects, but technically challenging issues in an operationally critical, highly secure environment where safety, continuity, and sustainability converge and where your solutions are immediately visible. You will be given the space to make your own choices, think ahead, and take responsibility for the end result. Your Mission You will design smart, sustainable, and future-proof installations and will be involved from the engineering phase in renovations, expansions, and replacement projects. Specifically: * Designing and engineering electrical installations within complex utility projects, from concept design to execution design. * Preparing and verifying cable and selectivity calculations. * Translating client requests and design premises into technically feasible and manufacturable solutions. * Elaborating design details in BIM/Revit and coordinating and checking drawings and models. * Testing designs for quality, feasibility, and manufacturability—and identifying bottlenecks before they arise in execution. * Technically assessing supplier quotes. * Collaborating in multidisciplinary design teams and representing your professional discipline. * Identifying opportunities in the areas of sustainability and innovation. You will work on installations that are essential for the daily operation of one of Europe's largest airports. That makes your work technically challenging and visible: * Installations that must be available 24/7. * Designs within a highly secure, operationally critical environment. * Direct contribution to safety, continuity, and sustainability. * Projects with high visibility and impact. * Complex technical and logistical issues. Your Work Environment At BAM Bouw en Techniek at Schiphol, over 200 colleagues work daily on the management, maintenance, and development of crucial airport facilities: terminals, fire stations, Schiphol Plaza, and parking facilities. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, modelers, technical developers, project managers, and execution colleagues. What sets us apart: large and technically challenging projects, short communication lines, an open and collegial culture, ample room for personal initiative, and plenty of opportunities to develop yourself towards a specialist, technical developer, or project manager. What do you bring? You are technically strong, communicative, and enjoy solving complex issues. You also recognize yourself in the following: * HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level in Electrical Engineering. * Experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician, Electrical Engineer, Project Engineer, or similar. * Knowledge of building-related installations within utilities, infrastructure, or another complex technical environment. * Experience with cable and selectivity calculations. * Knowledge of NEN 1010 and preferably NEN 3140. * Experience with BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar software. * Interest in sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. * Good command of the Dutch language. *A plus: knowledge of fire alarm and evacuation systems, low-voltage systems, DC and emergency power installations, and experience with contract forms such as UAV, UAV-GC, and/or DBMO.* Don't have everything yet, but do you see yourself in this role? We also warmly invite you to apply. What can you expect from us? At BAM, you will have the space to develop yourself further and work on projects you can be proud of. You can count on: * A salary between € 4,160 - € 6,350 per 4 weeks gross per 4 weeks, depending on your knowledge and experience. * 8% holiday pay. * 38 vacation days. * Hybrid working and flexibility in the arrangement of your work week. * 100% public transport allowance or mileage allowance. * A permanent parking space at Schiphol. * Laptop and iPhone. * Access to BAM Learning and various courses and training. * Discounts on sports subscriptions, insurance, and Microsoft Office. * A close-knit team where collaboration and development are central. The Application Process Do you see yourself working on the electrical installations of one of the most complex and dynamic locations in the Netherlands? Then we would love to meet you—even if you don't meet every requirement yet, but are enthusiastic about the technology and the dynamics of Schiphol. Questions or a no-obligation introduction? Contact Christian Venus, corporate recruiter BAM Bouw en Techniek, by phone, SMS, or WhatsApp at 06-11037075 or via [email protected]. A valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG) or a Declaration of No Objection (VGB) is part of the selection procedure. #LI-CV1
