Engineer Applied AI Engineering & Full-Stack (m/w/d)

An innovative HealthTech startup with a seat in Germany is looking for an engineer to develop an intelligent software solution that supports medical professionals in documenting and administrative processes. The goal is to significantly reduce bureaucratic effort in daily practice, allowing more time for patient care.

The solution seamlessly integrates into existing practice workflows, meets high data protection standards, and combines modern KI technology with a deep understanding of the requirements of everyday medicine. An interdisciplinary team from medicine, technology, and product development works at high speed on a future-oriented platform that is designed to sustainably relieve the healthcare system.

Tasks

You will be responsible for:

• The Python backend that drives our medical real-time documentation in production
• Livetranscription of actual doctor-patient conversations: streaming audio, multiple STT providers, quality monitoring, and fallback mechanisms
• Our Applied-AI core: LLM-evaluation pipelines, prompt optimization, multi-provider routing, and fallback chains, including cost and latency considerations for operating AI at scale
• A multi-cloud production infrastructure that reliably holds everything in clinical use
• Greenfield projects that define what our KI doctor will be next

Qualification

You fit our partner if:

• You are really strong in Python, our core language, with at least three years of programming experience
• You build things and don't just work on tickets: You prototype on weekends, bring your own projects to life, and want to put your stamp on a product
• You take responsibility for entire systems from start to finish and have delivered something that people rely on
• You bring high self-initiative: You recognize a problem, propose it, and deliver the solution
• You work with modern KI tools and want to dive deep into Applied AI (evaluation, prompting, routing, real-time pipelines), regardless of whether you're already experienced or eager to learn
• You think like a co-founder: You question our approach, recognize opportunities, and bring Sika to the next level
• You have empathy for doctors, nurses, and patients and are building for them
• You understand German on a conversational level

• Salary range 60,000 - 85,000 € (depending on experience)
