Responsibilities and Tasks of the Function
Job Summary:
Responsible for developing, optimizing, and monitoring thermal treatment and forging processes, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and compliance with technical standards and safety regulations. Collaborates with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Product Engineering areas to implement continuous improvements and support technological growth.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate thermal treatment (tempering, reheating, normalization, cementation) and forging processes (hot and cold).
- Prepare and review work instructions, FMEAs of process, and control plans;
- Conduct failure analyses and propose corrective and preventive actions;
- Monitor and optimize process parameters to reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve quality;
- Participate in projects for new products and processes, from conception to industrialization;
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and customer requirements;
- Work together with equipment and material suppliers to develop technical solutions;
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related fields.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in thermal treatment and forging processes;
- Experience in an industrial environment with a focus on mechanical manufacturing or metallurgy.
Tech Knowledge:
- Metalurgy of steels and metal alloys;
- Forging equipment (presses, hammers, molds) and industrial furnaces;
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications;
- Quality tools and root cause analysis;
- CAD software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Differentiators:
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar;
- Technical/intermediate English.
