Job description

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to participate or be responsible for tasks typically assigned to a Construction Engineer. Your role will consist of assisting the Project Manager in various tasks associated with the construction site, including planning, organization, and support execution. You will also negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, provide support at the work method level, develop and recommend improvements to design standards, provide advice and resolve complex problems related to design and engineering on the construction site.

Requirements

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Follow daily work through technical and administrative tasks assigned to you;
  • Plan and ensure good coordination of works with foremen, surveyors, supervisors, engineers, project managers, and subcontractors;
  • Prepare and follow up on technical questions related to plans and tenders;
  • Prepare, follow up, analyze, and manage subcontracting files;
  • Participate in contract negotiations when necessary;
  • Participate in the project schedule;
  • Obtain required permits and authorizations for work execution;
  • Plan and verify material orders as needed;
  • Participate in conflict detection follow-ups when the project is realized in BIM;
  • Assist, review, and communicate technical questions and modification requests to the client representative and perform necessary follow-ups;
  • Plan, supervise, and participate in developing construction methods and procedures appropriate for contractual requirements, while respecting current health and safety regulations;
  • Participate in site meetings with various stakeholders involved;
  • Follow up and manage deficiencies at the end of the project;
  • Get involved in traffic management as needed;


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering in progress;
  • Pertinent experience in the field of engineering or construction is a significant asset;
  • A driver's license and/or ability to travel may be required for certain opportunities
