Embedded Software Engineer (w/m/d) Image Processing

WHY WE NEED YOU

• You will be responsible for developing and optimizing image processing and object recognition algorithms for embedded systems.
• You develop software for our commercial dishwashers in C and C++ for applications on microprocessor platforms.
• You optimize performance considering storage and calculation restrictions.
• You perform profiling and debugging directly on embedded hardware.
• Generating synthetic training data for object recognition models, such as through simulation, rendering, or augmentation, is part of your job scope.
• You integrate the developed algorithms into existing software architectures.
• To achieve a comprehensive system optimization, you will work closely with our software development team and hardware department.
• To ensure clear and structured communication, you create technical documentation and specifications.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

• A completed degree in the field of electrical engineering, computer science, telecommunications or a comparable field forms the basis of your qualification.
• You bring relevant professional experience in embedded programming (C/C++, ARM architectures, real-time operating systems).
• You have practical knowledge of optimization techniques for resource-constrained systems (e.g. fixed-point arithmetic, SIMD, multi-threading), as well as experience in creating synthetic training data (e.g. using modeling tools from robotics).
• Your knowledge of machine learning approaches for object recognition, even without dedicated hardware acceleration, is a plus for us.
• You have experience with version control (Git) and work comfortably with agile methods.
• Your profile is rounded off by good German and good English skills.
