Job description
Function
- Develop and maintain embedded software for our machine controllers.
- Develop motion control for stepper motors, encoders, and other drives.
- Configure, test, and optimize positioning axes.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, digital I/O, and frequency converters.
- Implement communication protocols such as Modbus RTU and other industrial interfaces.
- Translate machine functions into robust software logic and state machines.
- Debug hardware and software together on prototypes and production machines.
- Contribute to the further development of our controller hardware.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering in the development of new machine functions.
- Further evolve machine-specific software towards a more modular and reusable software architecture.
- Contribute to diagnostics, logging, and service functionality.
- In the long term, contribute to the connection between the real-time machine controller and higher software layers/HMI.
Profile
Experience or strong interest in:
- C/C++ for embedded systems;
- microcontrollers, ideally STM32 or comparable;
- real-time/deterministic machine control;
- stepper and/or servo motion;
- encoder feedback and positioning;
- PWM, timers, interrupts;
- digital and analog I/O;
- industrial communication such as Modbus, CAN, RS-485;
- frequency converters and electric drives;
- debugging of hardware and software;
- Git/version control;
- basic knowledge of electronics and electrical schematics.
