Embedded Software Engineer (Firmware C/C++) m/f/d

• Development, programming, testing, and maintenance of modular, robust firmware for ARM-based microcontrollers in industrial automation and mechatronic systems

• Development and maintenance of reusable firmware and software libraries as well as industrial communication interfaces, especially OPC UA, Modbus RTU/TCP, CANopen, and Ethernet TCP/IP

• Ensuring reliable communication and integration between electronics, microcontrollers, and higher-level automation systems

• Planning and execution of verifications, system tests, and simulation-based validations as well as development of automated test solutions

• Analysis of measurement and production data, execution of experiments, and preparation of results for targeted error analysis and system optimization

• Support of prototype development, hardware commissioning, low-level debugging, and transition of prototypes into series production

• Technical support and continuous further development of existing products throughout the entire product lifecycle

• Participation in hardware development, schematic design, component selection, and system architecture

• Responsibility for the application of the Renesas Synergy Software Package (SSP)

• Close collaboration with software, hardware, and product management teams as well as active participation in architecture and code reviews

• Monitoring of new technologies and identification of innovation potential for the development of future-oriented solutions

• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, requirements specifications, as well as test and implementation documentation

• Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and normative requirements, especially the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)

• Completed degree (Bachelor or Master) in mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field

• At least 5 years of professional experience in the development and testing of embedded firmware/software and hardware

• Very good knowledge of C/C++ for ARM-based real-time microcontrollers as well as practical experience with embedded Linux platforms, e.g., Yocto

• In-depth experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, CANopen, Ethernet TCP/IP, and Modbus RTU/TCP

• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps as well as a good understanding of modern software development and version control processes

• Experience in test automation and data analysis, ideally with Python

• Good knowledge of network analysis and troubleshooting, especially with Wireshark and serial console tools

• Experience with technical documentation, requirements specifications, as well as FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ test protocols

• Knowledge in process control systems, data acquisition, and sensor integration, ideally in the field of bioprocess technology

• Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines such as EMC, Low Voltage, and Machinery Directives, as well as GxP, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 are advantageous

• Enthusiasm for innovations and openness to new technologies

• Very good command of English, both written and spoken, as well as German language skills at at least B1 level
