Job description

For an established client, we are looking for an electrical engineer (m/f/d) in the petroleum industry who ensures the reliable function of electrical systems and supports their technical further development. The focus is on the maintenance, service, and upgrade of the electrical engineering infrastructure for the transport and storage of petroleum. You will work with an experienced team from electrical engineering, automation, and skilled tradespeople and will be the interface to other departments.

Tasks

  • You plan and coordinate maintenance, service, and testing measures on electrical systems – from low voltage to medium voltage, including supplementary tasks in the high-voltage area.
  • You analyze technical faults, organize their rectification, and develop measures for the sustainable improvement of system availability. You prepare projects for upgrading and modernizing existing systems and support their implementation.
  • You create technical specifications, participate in tenders, and coordinate with purchasing, external service providers, and involved trades.
  • You coordinate work with the specialist departments and dispatch so that ongoing transport operations are not adversely affected as much as possible.
  • You support recurring inspections and ensure compliance with technical safety requirements, especially in the areas of cathodic corrosion and explosion protection.

Qualification

  • You have a completed degree in electrical engineering or a comparable technical qualification.
  • You have several years of relevant professional experience, ideally at least three years in the maintenance, service, or commissioning of electrical industrial plants. You have sound knowledge in low-voltage and medium-voltage technology (high-voltage is an advantage) as well as in handling switchgear, switching devices, and electrical components.
  • You have knowledge of control technology and can understand the interplay of electrical engineering and automated systems. You work in a structured manner, coordinate reliably within the team, and react flexibly to changing operational requirements.
  • You are willing to participate in on-call duty and occasionally visit the supervised plants on-site. (Travel readiness approx. 20%)

Benefits

  • 38.5-hour week with flexible working hours and the option to start the weekend earlier on Fridays, depending on operational planning.
  • 30 vacation days per year, plus two additional days that can be used as time off or paid out.
  • Mobile working, as far as the tasks allow; the focus of the activity is on-site.
  • Professional further training and development opportunities, according to your own wishes.
