Electrician Companion

The electrician companion position consists of installing, maintaining and repairing cables, equipment and electrical appliances.

Tasks

• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, repair cables, equipment and electrical appliances

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electric or electronic cables, equipment, devices, accessories, using hand tools and electrical tools;

• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components;

• Diagnose system, device and component malfunctions, using testing equipment and hand tools, to find the cause of a fault and correct the problem;

• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and ensure compliance with codes;

• Maintain an electrician's license or other document card responding to government regulations;

• Plan cable layout, equipment and device installation based on specifications and local codes;

• Repair or replace cable, equipment and devices, using hand tools and electrical tools;

• Test continuity of circuits in cable, equipment and devices using instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes;

• Use a variety of tools and equipment like construction materials, measuring devices, electrical tools and test the material, including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.

Qualifications and requirements

• Education in a specialized school;

• Certificate of qualification (license «C»)

• Ability to determine the causes of malfunctioning errors and determine how to fix them and repair machines or systems using necessary tools.

Work conditions

• Permanent full-time position. (We prioritize daytime and weekday hours.
