Electrical Solar Maintenance Technician

Job Description This is a hands-on field-based role responsible for the ongoing maintenance and performance of rural solar systems across the Waikato. You’ll be the key technician on the ground, carrying out site visits, diagnosing issues, completing minor repairs, and ensuring systems are operating safely and efficiently. You’ll also maintain accurate digital records and communicate findings with the wider team. Key Responsibilities: Carry out scheduled maintenance and performance checks on rural solar systems; diagnose and rectify minor faults; ensure all electrical work is carried out in accordance with relevant safety standards and regulations; maintain accurate digital records of site visits, including photographs and notes; communicate findings and recommendations to the wider team; participate in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices. Requirements: Electrical trade qualification or equivalent; experience working on solar systems or similar renewable energy technologies; strong understanding of electrical safety principles and regulations; ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent communication and record-keeping skills; willingness to travel regularly throughout the Waikato region.
