Electrical Engineer or CPI - Energy

Description of the position
As an electrical engineer, you will be able to participate in designing schemes, installation plans, and developing a protection philosophy, and contribute to large-scale energy projects. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment and develop skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, including on projects for our client Hydro-Québec or on projects for power lines, hydroelectric power plants, and renewable energy with many clients across Canada.
We offer a flexible hybrid working mode that allows you to work from your home and our numerous offices throughout Quebec (Sherbrooke, Granby, Longueuil, Montreal, Laval, Quebec, Rivière-du-Loup, Baie-Comeau or Saguenay).
Main responsibilities
Electrical equipment
- Design electrical power systems and their arrangements in different locations.
- Participate in developing electrical systems, including diagrams and installation plans for electrical equipment such as medium-voltage panels, high-voltage equipment, etc.
- Prepare deliverable project elements, including floor plans, elevations, and detailed drawings, various arrangements, diagrams, etc.
- Perform or validate calculations for equipment sizing, selecting power cable sizes, etc.
Control and protection
- Design control and protection systems using 2D software (AutoCAD) and CAO (E3)
- Prepare deliverable project elements, including detailed drawings, electrical diagrams, arrangements, equipment sizing, etc.
- Collaborate with engineering team members and project managers from other disciplines
- Prepare plans, drawings, and calculations based on provided specifications
- Participate in developing electrical systems for control and protection, including single-line diagrams, logical diagrams, three-phase diagrams, protection and control diagrams, wire drawings, equipment connection drawings, assembly plans, material lists, and estimates for fabrication and installation at the construction site of control and protection panels
- Participate in developing power supply systems, including single-line diagrams, load calculations, distribution diagrams, charger connections, battery connections, inverter connections, etc.
General
- Participate in site surveys (power lines)
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines: civil, mechanical, and building to develop optimized and evolving system design solutions for power lines and central stations
- Possibility of performing occasional construction work when the opportunity arises (start-up or surveillance)
