Electrical Design Engineer - Wire Harness

Job Title: Senior Harness Engineer Job Type: Full-Time Overview: We are seeking an experienced contractor to lead the design, development, validation, and scaling of spider harnesses used to integrate autonomy compute, networking, and sensor systems across multiple vehicle platforms. This is a highly hands-on role spanning the full harness lifecycle—from concept and prototype through production-ready design. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop complex automotive wiring harnesses for autonomous vehicles; collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration of harness designs into overall system architecture; develop and maintain detailed design specifications, including wire routing, component placement, and electrical performance characteristics; work closely with manufacturing engineers to optimize production processes and minimize costs; validate and test harness designs using simulation tools and physical prototypes; scale and refine designs for high-volume production. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 5+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in the automotive industry; strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring harness design principles, and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 1672); proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Altium Designer) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS); excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; strong communication and collaboration skills.
