Job Description As a Senior Java Developer within our IT support department, you will play an essential role in the development, quality, and further expansion of the Sitran applications in Java/Angular, as well as in the continuous integration and deployment chain (CI/CD). You are part of the Sitran team within the Business Partner (Bupa) ICT Services department of the President, which is part of the Service Delivery pillar of the FPS Finance. Your main responsibilities are: Participate in the technical analysis, development, and implementation of applications based on functional analyses. Ensure code quality through automated tests and the application of best practices. Develop robust applications in a multi-user environment with high availability. Contribute to the maintenance and further evolution of existing applications. Design and implement secure MicroServices and REST APIs. Follow technological evolutions, with particular attention to generative AI, and formulate improvement proposals. Create technical documentation and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. Mentor, support, and coach less experienced colleagues. You will be part of the Sitran team within the Bupa ICT Services department of the President, part of the Service Delivery pillar of the FPS Finance. Our IT support department plays a crucial role in the digital backbone of the FPS Finance and works daily to shape the technological future of the organization. The IT department is responsible for, among other things: Developing and monitoring the ICT strategy and technical standards. Ensuring a reliable and secure information system. Managing the complete IT infrastructure. Supporting internal and external users. The Service Delivery pillar develops software applications for the general administrations and staff services. In close collaboration with the business, functional needs are analyzed, new services are developed, and existing applications are continuously improved. Furthermore, the pillar is responsible for the quality, continuity, and availability of the applications, respecting the organization's priorities, budgetary guidelines, and a strong focus on user satisfaction. Within the Bupa ICT Services department of the President, the Sitran team supports the President's services by developing and managing software applications. Sitran also plays a strategic role within the FPS Finance through the management of reference data, such as: The National Register. The Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (KBO). Addresses. Bank accounts. Other essential reference data. This way, the team ensures that all FPS Finance applications can rely on reliable, consistent, and up-to-date reference data. Profile Description What education and experience do we expect from you? You hold a Master's or Bachelor's degree in an IT field or equivalent through experience. You have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the development of Java and Angular applications. What skills and knowledge do you bring? Backend skills (expertise): Excellent knowledge of Java and the Spring and Spring Boot frameworks. Experience with designing and developing MicroServices. Very good knowledge of SQL; knowledge of DB2 is a plus. Experience with designing and developing secure REST APIs (OAuth2/OIDC). Good knowledge of automated testing, design patterns, and quality standards. Frontend skills: Good command of recent versions of Angular. Able to develop modular and reusable user interfaces. Eye for ergonomics and optimal user experience (UX). DevOps & infrastructure (Cloud native): Experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GIT, and artifact management tools. Knowledge of cloud environments and monitoring tools. Soft skills: Analytical and meticulous in addressing complex data-related issues. You can work independently while simultaneously fostering good collaboration within the team. Sense of responsibility and a strong focus on quality. Interest in innovation, technological evolutions, and artificial intelligence. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate smoothly with both technical and functional stakeholders. Language skills: You work in a bilingual environment. Knowledge of French is therefore a plus for efficient collaboration with colleagues and other specialists.
