Preschool Teacher - 4-year-old Class (30.00 hours/semester)

• Prepare, organize, and direct activities that promote learning and overall child development ;
• Develop in children a sense of initiative and perseverance ;
• Organize activities to reinforce self-esteem and self-regulation among children ;
• Accompany children throughout the day, including hygiene routines ;
• Prepare educational activities indoors and outdoors and encourage cooperation and participation ;
• Outfit children to increase their autonomy and social skills among peers ;
• Observing children and making individualized interventions adapted to their needs ;
• Participate in ongoing child development monitoring ;
• Maintain order and discipline using positive approaches and in a positive and creative environment ;
• Any other connected tasks.

Note:

This job requires possession of a valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate issued in British Columbia, as per the requirements of the Ministry of Child and Family Development.

In addition, a temporary salary bonus might be granted under the ECE Enhancement Wage program, subject to ministerial approval and opening of the 4-year-old kindergarten program. If this measure is confirmed, it will allow eligible EPE personnel members to benefit from a temporary hourly supplement of$4 per hour, for the duration determined by the Ministry.
