The Berliner Zeitung stands for unbiased, independent journalism. We are convinced that a critical press is an indispensable prerequisite for a functioning democracy. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Editorial Product & Operations Manager (m/w/d).

Tasks

  • Technology Ambassador:
    You identify technological trends (AI, CMS features) and coordinate their implementation. As the primary point of contact for our developers and ensuring that the editorial vision is technically precisely understood.
  • Performance Monitoring & SEO:
    You have our technical infrastructure and SEO performance firmly in sight. You analyze data and develop optimization proposals together with the technical team.
  • Process Optimization:
    You analyze editorial workflows and look for potential for automation or technical support to make the newsroom more efficient.
  • Multiproject Management:
    You manage complex projects across different departments and moderate the exchange between content creators and software engineers.

Qualification

  • You master German on a native speaker level for work in the editorial department and communicate fluently in English to facilitate daily coordination with our international developer teams.
  • Bilingual (Content & Code): You understand the language of the editorial department just as well as the logic of software development.
  • Technical Foundation: Funded knowledge in SEO, web technologies, and data analysis are standard for you.
  • Organizational Talent: You are confident in agile project management methods and keep a cool head even with parallel projects.
  • Moderation Strength: You can explain technical hurdles to the editorial department and prioritize editorial wishes against the technical team.
