Economic Development Manager

Job description
The Economic Development (ED) Manager will support the Knowledge Pele’s mandate to deliver measurable and social and economic impact alongside renewable energy operations. The ED Manager is accountable for ensuring full compliance with REIPPPP scorecard elements, BBBEE and Implementation Agreement obligations, and lead the strategy, implementation and compliance of Economic Development (ED) and Socio-Economic/Enterprise Development (ED/EnD) commitments. The ED Manager is accountable for financial management, budgeting, and reporting, as well as ensuring the effective allocation of resources to achieve ED/EnD objectives. The ED Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing ED/EnD strategies, policies, and procedures, and ensuring their effective implementation and monitoring. The ED Manager will work closely with the Renewable Energy Operations team, the Socio-Economic/Enterprise Development team, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of ED/EnD commitments. The ED Manager will also be responsible for providing guidance and support to the Renewable Energy Operations team on ED/EnD matters, and ensuring that all ED/EnD activities are aligned with the overall objectives of the Knowledge Pele’s mandate. The ED Manager will be accountable for ensuring that all ED/EnD commitments are delivered in accordance with the agreed-upon timelines and budgets, and that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process. The ED Manager will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges, and developing contingency plans as necessary. The ED Manager will be accountable for ensuring that all ED/EnD activities are conducted in accordance with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability, and that all stakeholders are treated fairly and equitably. The ED Manager will also be responsible for providing regular progress reports to the Knowledge Pele’s management team, and for ensuring that all ED/EnD commitments are delivered in a manner that is consistent with the overall objectives of the Knowledge Pele’s mandate. The ED Manager will be accountable for ensuring that all ED/EnD activities are conducted in a manner that is consistent with the highest standards of professionalism, expertise, and integrity, and that all stakeholders are treated with respect and dignity. The ED Manager will also be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities for collaboration and partnership with other stakeholders, and for ensuring that all ED/EnD activities are conducted in a manner that is consistent with the overall objectives of the Knowledge Pele’s mandate. The ED Manager will be accountable for ensuring that all ED/EnD commitments are delivered in accordance with the agreed-upon timelines and budgets, and that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process.
