ECC Vet Nurse

NQ Care is a rapidly growing Emergency and Referral Hospital in Townsville, and due to continued demand, we are expanding our ECC team. We’re looking for experienced ECC Nurses who want to grow in a supportive, progressive, and genuinely people-focused hospital.

What we’re looking for

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years full-time ECC experience
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Compassion, adaptability, and a commitment to excellent patient and client care

Key Responsibilities

• In this ECC role, you will be responsible for:
• Holding animals to allow examination and treatment by Veterinarians
• Cleaning and sterilising examination tables and equipment
• Preparing instruments and handing them to the Veterinarian
• Assisting Veterinarians to administer anaesthetics and oxygen during operations
• Placing animals in cages for recovery and monitoring their condition
• Giving medications to animals
• Maintaining stock control and records
• Providing animal care advice, and preparing, delivering, and reviewing animal care education programs
• Performing diagnostic laboratory tests
• May act as receptionist, accept payments, and undertake clerical work
