The theoretical foundations are taught at the Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences.

Field of Activity: (Bachelor of Engineering) with in-depth practical experience (m/f/d)

• You will complete your regular Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering combined with in-depth practical phases at the City of Nuremberg, in various areas of the internal operational unit Service Betrieb Öffentlicher Raum Nürnberg, such as road, bridge, and water construction.
• You will support our employees in varied and diverse activities, ranging from tender preparation and award procedures, to planning smaller projects, administrative tasks in the municipal geoinformation system, monitoring construction services, acting as the client/developer, to project coordination and the supervision of external engineering firms and construction companies.
• The qualifications you acquire during your studies and practical phases will later enable you to independently take on tasks in the planning, new construction, renovation, and maintenance of all types of traffic facilities, civil engineering structures, as well as municipal bodies of water and squares.

• You have successfully completed the general university entrance qualification or subject-restricted university entrance qualification, unrestricted Fachhochschulreife, or an equally recognized educational qualification (vocational qualification) with good grades, or are about to graduate.
• You have successfully completed a preliminary internship with manual labor activities on a construction site. This must be available at the latest by the start of the studies. We are happy to offer you the opportunity to complete your preliminary internship at the City of Nuremberg, Service Betrieb Öffentliche Raum.
• You are medically fit for the area of responsibility, especially for the preliminary internship.

• If you obtained your school leaving certificate abroad, you have:
  • a suitable proof of the university entrance qualification required for the degree program, as well as
  • the German language skills required for the studies and subsequent employment, both written and spoken (at least the formal requirements of the TH Nürnberg)

• Driving license class B
• Interest in scientific, legal, and technical issues such as procurement law, as well as in sustainable technical solutions for specific issues in the areas of structures, infrastructure, geotechnics, civil engineering, and environmental engineering and water management.
• High willingness to learn, organizational talent, and negotiation skills.
• Teamwork skills, flexibility, and resilience.

• Paid studies with direct transfer of theory into practice and a preliminary internship in the main construction industry with your own laptop as a loan device - also for use during the theory phases.
